Welcome to Mrs. Dorman's Seventh Grade Science Class.

Class Information

Welcome to seventh grade science class.  We will begin the year focusing on life science including such topics as:

-Classifying Organisms                               -Structure and Function of Cells

     -Genetics                                                 -Evolution

     -Ecology                                                   -Human Body Systems

Towards the end of the year we will focus on physical science covering topics such as energy and motion. 

Student Responsibilities

1.  Students are expected to be respectful of people, equipment and furnishings at all times.

2.  Students are to be in class on time with all required materials.  This includes your three-ring binder with a science notebook, a science folder and a pen or pencil.

3.  Students are responsible to find out and complete any missing assignments after an absence.  All work must be made up within a week of their return or it will result in a zero. 

4.  Students are expected to have assignments completed for their due dates.   A Lab or project turned in after the due date will lose 10 points for each day it is late. 

Extra Help

I am available for extra help after school on Thursdays or by appointment.

Grading

Tests, projects and labs=45%

Quizzes=30%       

Homework=25%  

• Homework is graded on effort.   It is assigned Monday through Thursday and occasionally on Fridays.  We go over each assignment on the day that it is due.  For this reason, I do not accept late homework.
